Dr Janine Chantson, Director of the UWC TTO, obtained a partial scholarship to attend the PIPRA Licensing Academy on Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at the University of California, Davis School of Law. The two-week immersive course was attended by 32 delegates, representing 12 different countries, and comprised of international lawyers, technology managers and scientific professionals. The Academy covered topics including U.S. and international IP protection, IP management for commercialisation, licensing, IP issues in negotiating international agreements and more. In addition to classroom presentations, the delegates worked on real-world case studies and made field visits to Silicon Valley.
